Karimnagar: VB Kamalasan Reddy while disclosing the details of annual crime report at a press conference held at police headquarters here on Wednesday. In order to control crime and maintain law and order situation in the commissionerate limits, they have introduced blue colts, introspective vehicles, body warm cameras, operation night safety, cordon and search and others. He said that the overall crime rate in Karimnagar Police Commissionerate limit has dipped slightly by 2.53 per cent in the year 2017 as compared to last year. A total of 3,649 cases were registered this year as compared to 3,744 cases in 2016. Also, the loss of property recovered has also been reduced to Rs 1.25 crore this year from Rs 2.45 crore last years. The crime rate has reduced only because of different initiatives taken up by the Commissionerate authorities, said Commissioner of Police.
