New Delhi: Subsidies for food, fertilizer and petroleum products have risen by 15 per cent this year. The Center allocated Rs 2.64 lakh crore for subsidies in the financial year 2018-19. After the budgetary amendments, Rs.229,715.65 crore was allocated for these subsidies in 2017-18. In the next fiscal, food subsidy was at Rs 1,69,323 crore, while in the last financial year it was Rs 1,40,281 crore.
Subsidy for fertilizer subsidy was Rs 70,079.85 crores for the next financial year and Rs 64,973.5 crores were allocated for the current financial year. Rs 44,989.5 crore has been allocated for the urea in the next financial year. Rs 25,090.35 crore for phosphate and potash fertilizers and Rs 22,251.8 crore in 2017-18 financial year. Rs 24,932.8 crore for petrol subsidy and Rs 24,933 crore for LPG subsidy.
