NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has directed the CBSE to make Aadhaar number mandatory for students applying for NEET-2018 and other all India exams. A division bench of the five judges of the Supreme Court, Justice Deepak Mishra, on Wednesday ordered the CBI to upload information on the CBSE website.
The petition filed by the Gujarat High Court challenging the CBSE decision to submit the Aadhaar numbers must be given to students who apply for NEET. The Supreme Court today challenged the appeal of the appeal petition challenging the High Court judgment. The UIDAI had told the CBSE not to collect Aadhaar details from students applying for NEET-2018 during the arguments. The Supreme Court ruled that Aadhaar is not mandatory for Neet applicants.
